Meisterschaft der Zeitungsfahrer - Berlin - 1936

Newspaper Couriers' Championship despite frozen roads and falling snow. The race was run in two stages Berlin-Wittenberg and Wittenberg-Leipzig; the first stage was particularly hard due to the weather, yet the newspaper couriers held on courageously. The winner of the juniors: Rudolf Wolke (in the right picture), the seniors: Willi Heinrich. In the left picture: The field riding through Lubast.
The Championship of Newspaper Couriers was open to all German newspaper couriers. The winner in the main class was Erich Golz, who is known already by his successes on road and track. In the picture: With a clear lead Golz rides beaming with joy across the finish. On their backs the riders carry a backpack full of newspapers.
