We purchased this tandem in 1960 from Spence Wolf (owner of the Cupertino Bicycle Store in California) who had ordered it from the Jack Taylor works. Since the original Campagnolo Record rear derailleur was incapable of handling the big gear jump Spence modified it by adding a much longer drop pulley arm. When the superior Suntour derailleur became available we installed it to replace the modified Campy one.

This tandem has never been crashed and has given us many miles of pleasant cycling and fond memories of our touring days. It is an extremely comfortable and easy-to-handle tandem. It still has the original metallic blue paint and pin striping, although 40 years of storage in basements and garages have had their effects on its looks and condition. The original wheels are straight; and there are no dents in the aluminum rims. The bicycle is functional and can be ridden; however, it needs new tires and should be cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted before it is used extensively.

This is a rare tandem from one of the world's premier tandem manufacturers and is worthy of being restored to its original glory. Even in its present condition it offers its owner many more miles of enjoyable and comfortable touring.
