Jack Taylor #2828

from the second ebay listing for this frame:

1955 Jack Taylor Tourist, Serial # 2828, 55cm center to top, 58cm toptube, 106cm wheelbase, 46cm chainstay

internal frame wiring for lights, generator mount on left rear seatstay, pump peg mounts on right rear seatstay, grease zert on bb, cyclo vertical rear dropouts, lovely pencil thin fork blades showing some paint chipping but no rust.

Stronglight 49/170 crank arms w/ TA 48/36 rings (very little wear), Lyotard Berthet pedals with British made adjustable clips, Simplex DT levers, Simplex 39(?) front derailleur and Simplex rear derailleur (all good to better showing wear and missing a little chrome here and there but not rusty. Nice vintage patina), 4 speed cyclo freewheel, AHA rear light, Brooks B66 (oval label) worn but quite useable, Mafac cantiÕs (short arm version w/ rare logo)

Campagnolo hubs w/ open-C skewers- Rigida Chrolux rims (27") 36 spoke each, Bluemel Club Special fenders w/ homemade stays, Headset unmarked but looks appropriate, GB stem and unmarked handlebars w/ inappropriate Weinmann levers, Unknown seat post and clamp.

Overall this bike is in very nice original and rideable condition showing far fewer than expected paint chips and no rust. Purplish Blue in color. No dents or buckles or any sign of ever being crashed or bent. I frame saved it and did many many coats of wax. The decals are very, very nice, but not perfect. The white box striping is excellent. The components are all in excellent used/working condition. I donÕt think you could find a better original 1955 frame.

Best guess on the rear dropouts is that they are Cyclo mod. 372 verticals.
