Maintaining blackbirdsf.org as it becomes an increasingly popular resource has gotten expensive, perhaps too expensive for someone at my income level. Only a few years ago, basic hosting was costing me about $30 each quarter. Lately, it's costing around $150/quarter. It's not much in the scheme of things, and I can manage it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't put a dent in my sometimes meager income all the same, and I'm quite lucky that my friendly hosting service is quite patient with billing. I'm still stunned by the traffic the site gets - I doubt I could have ever predicted it'd get this much use. I flat out refuse to put advertising up here to pay the bills. That's just not my way. So I figured, why not ask?
