Goeland built bikes in Paris from 1937 to 1949. This bike was made for a Poly Multiplier outdoor event/show. The original owner tried to get his girlfriend to ride it, but she refused, and he put it away for many years, where it sat unridden. It's very unused and minty. All original except for the saddles. The old ones were rotten, and presently there is a nice vintage Ideale in the rear, and a later Brooks in the front.

from the ebay description for this bike:
50.5 cm center to top for the seat tube. Exceptionally rare Goeland porteur frame built and used for carrying newspapers in Paris. Stamped 4279 on back dropouts. Deep aubergine colour with red/gold stripe and linig, elaborate lugs and original tranfers. Paint original but shows evidence of a long working life transporting newspapers on the Paris streets. The carrier (original needs refixing) is black, I presume it was repainted due to extra wear. Small bracket underneath for fitting lamp. There are two braze-ons for fitting a chain guard, they are bent and uneven. Headset non original and has no ball bearings.
