The happy winners of the Critérium des Porteurs de Journaux, Mme. Trébis and Albert Flahaut came to visit us last week and to tell us how happy they were to have triumphed.
Mme. Trébis, while we congratulate her, endeavors to tell us how great the courage of her friends was, for whom the race was very hard. For his part, Flahaut does not run dry of praises for his close pursuers. "Finally," he tells us, "I won, but it was necessary to pull out all the stops. This is of no importance, since they will be rewarded well for it!"
Flahaut, without completely stopping his job as newspaper courier, will race this season for Météore and Wolber tires, the same as Gilman. He assures us, moreover, that his daily job is the best training that he can have.
Before leaving us, he makes a point to restate his thanks to l'Intransigeant, l'Echo des Sports and La Pedale.
Before drawing the curtain on a race which had so much of an effect on the Parisian region, we permit ourselves once again to renew our sincere thanks to all those which contributed to this imposing success; to l'Intransigeant and l'Echo des Sports, and to their devoted collaborators; to the competitors, who showed all their courage; to all the sporting companies which gracefully lent their support for the organization of various controls; to all the sportsmen who were sent at the organizers' disposition to any post; to all those, in short, who, in large or small part, were the creators responsible for such a beautiful sporting event.
Once again, a thank you to all.
