Caminargent "Randonneuse/Nice-Evian" #3310

From the ebay listing for this bike:

Offered here is a Caminargent french alloy framed bicycle. This was the wonder of the cycling world when introduced in 1936 and was probably the first cycle to be equipped with Stronglight 49D chainsets from new. This is a particularly small version at 49cm (c to c), the only one of this size that I have ever seen. The Caminargent was very expensive when new. This one seems to be in very sound condition, despite being in complete "barn find" condition and will need a full rebuild.

Original Caminade handlebars and stem, Ideale saddle, original fenders and carrier, Huret derailleur andĘ early type Stronglight 49D chainset. The original forks were replaced long ago with period French forks, painted silver these will give more confidence when riding. The head lug has an old re-enforcing band around the top of the down tube and the head badge is missing.
